Eurgh Monday

Okay so I don’t usually moan about Mondays. I’m all about time being social construct and days like Monday actually being a marketing ploy for more expensive weekends and automatically making us feel blue. But today is a bit of a ‘eurgh Monday’.

I worked all weekend but that’s cool, I like my job. Around that there were other things I had to fit in and I felt like this weekend was an absolute jigsaw of realistically keeping other people happy (yes I know I can hear you shaking your head) At the same time, on my little entrepreneur back burner brain, I have some new products (The Dance Parent Academy and Summer Dance Day are currently selling) and the summer homework refreshers are coming out soon. Plus I drove about 350 miles in 3 days. Baby #2 is teething, it’s bloody raining and I woke up to yet another person doing what I do but they’re younger, better at Canva and with less responsibility sponsored on my socials. (I’m over it now but I’m tempted to trademark DanceSmarter!)

I’m really not one to moan. I have created a life that many dream off but sometimes it’s okay to let something give. I was listening to Emma Gredes audiobook (Start Yourself) on my travels this weekend and something she says rang very true and has rebooted my morning of feeling a bit meh.

She talks about her rule of thirds.

‘You’re going to be happy 1/3 of the time, you’re going to okay 1/3 of the time and the final 1/3 of the time your likely to feel terrible. And the point is we shouldn’t feel good all of the time’

That little thought got me through this morning, still raining btw. So if you’re feeling a bit meh today, let that roll. And also consider it to the people around you to.

I’d highly recommend Emma Grede’s book. Thanks Kate E Hanna for you’re recommendation 💜

The little changes!

In the last 4 years, how I look after myself has really changed. Maybe it was turning 30, having kids, heading into an algorithm wormhole of clean eating on my socials, being married to mr ‘I take 75

The examiner will see you now

If you grew up in the 90’s and did dance classes (in the UK that is) there’s probably a photo of you in a stirrup catsuit with waist belt in a dubious jazz 4th or possibly in a character skirt holding
